HC Deb 21 May 1931 vol 252 cc2187-8
37. Mr. WHITE

asked the Minister of Health the number of deaths which have occurred through fires in buildings in each of the last three calendar years?

Mr. GREENWOOD

The best information available is that contained in Table 22 of Part I of the Registrar-General's Annual Statistical Review, of deaths classified to the head of conflagration, excluding those due to accidental burns under the heads set forth in that table. The number of deaths classified to conflagration was 57, 78 and 61 for the three years 1928, 1929 and 1930, respectively. The figure for the last mentioned year is provisional.
