§ The SECRETARY of STATE for SCOTLAND (Mr. William Adamson)The total gross value of industrial and freight transport subjects in Scotland for the year 1930–31 is £7,134,000 and the rateable value £1,671,000. The return received by the Department of Health for Scotland does not show industrial subjects and freight transport subjects separately. I regret that the remainder of the information asked is not available and could be obtained only by calling for a special return which would impose a considerable amount of labour and expense on local authorities and would take a considerable time to obtain.
