HC Deb 12 March 1931 vol 249 c1374
63. Mr. ALBERY

asked the Minister of Health if he bas had brought to his notice the traffic in bogus British birth certificates; and whether he is now prepared to consider with the Home Office precautions for the prevention of the misuse of birth certificates?

Mr. GREENWOOD

Nothing further on the subject has come to my notice since the hon. Member's previous question in November last, when, as I may remind him, I informed him that I was not clear as to the nature of the precautions which he had in mind but that I would consider any cases of which particulars were given to me.

Mr. ALBERY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware of the statements made in the Press that the Home Office is inquiring into the fraudulent use of these birth certificates abroad?

Mr. GREENWOOD

That question should be addressed to the Home Secretary.

Mr. C. WILLIAMS

But will the right hon. Gentleman consult with the Home Office on this matter?

Mr. GREENWOOD

I have already done so.
