HC Deb 16 April 1931 vol 251 cc337-8
27. Mr. ALBERY

asked the Minister of Health if he will consider amending the new regulation which restricts the right of insured persons to change their medical adviser?

Mr. GREENWOOD

The answer is in the negative.

Mr. ALBERY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that there is a very considerable feeling about sick, persons having to give such long notice in these cases?

Mr. GREENWOOD

I have not received such complaints. If the hon. Member has them, I shall be very glad to consider them.

24. Mr. SHAKESPEARE

asked the Minister of Health on what grounds he has given notice of his intention to revoke Clause 4 (4) in the agreement made with the Retail Pharmacist Union in 1927?

Mr. GREENWOOD

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the right hon. Member for Woolwich West (Sir K. Wood) on this subject on the 17th March.

Dr. MORRIS-JONES

Will the right hon. Gentleman tell us whether he will bring the regulation before the House?

Mr. GREENWOOD

The point is that the Retail Pharmacist Union have taken legal action against me, and at the moment, therefore, I can say nothing.

30. Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTE (for Brigadier - General CLIFTON BROWN)

asked the Minister of Health whether he has considered the resolution of protest from the Berkshire County Insurance Committee against his proposal to revoke Clause 4 (4) of the chemists' terms of service under the National Health Insurance Act; and whether he will reconsider the matter before taking final decision?

Mr. GREENWOOD

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the reply given to the right hon. Member for Woolwich West (Sir K. Wood) on the 17th March.
