HC Deb 05 June 1930 vol 239 cc2361-2
33. Sir JOSEPH LAMB

asked the Home Secretary what decision has been taken by the Government upon the resolution of the London County Council passed in January to request the Government to appoint a Royal Commission to inquire into the whole London subway question?

Mr. CLYNES

The matter is still under consideration by the Departments concerned and no decision has yet been reached.

Sir J. LAMB

Can the right hon. Gentleman give any information as to when he will probably come to a decision?

Mr. CLYNES

Some five or six other Departments, besides the Home Office, are interested in the matter, but I will represent to them the desirability of hastening consideration.
