§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of AGRICULTURE (Dr. Addison)Yes, Sir. My right hon. Friend is informed that American potato bags are being used in large numbers in this country. He is advised that the risk of the introduction of new potato diseases and insect pests by means of these bags is not appreciable, and he therefore does not feel that the circumstances call for action under the Destructive Insects and Pests Acts.
