HC Deb 27 February 1928 vol 214 cc3-4
10. Mr. DAY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he has any statistics that will show the number of casualties, fatal or otherwise, caused through riots that have occurred in British India for the 12 months ended to the last convenient date; and can he give particulars of them?

Earl WINTERTON

The hon. Member will find such statistics for about four years up to September 1927, relating to communal riots on pages 9–12 of the OFFICIAL REPORT of the Legislative Assembly for 18th August, 1926, pages 4,307–4,311 of the same OFFICIAL REPORT for 14th September, 1927, and page 620 of the OFFICIAL REPORT of the Council of State for 21st March, 1927. These volumes are in the Library.
