HC Deb 07 December 1927 vol 211 c1361
19. Mr. HORE-BELISHA

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether, seeing that under the proposal that has been put forward by the Admiralty, that the Royal dockyards should be closed from Friday evening 23rd December to Wednesday morning 28th December, dockyard workers would lose pay for a day and a-half, he will consider the possibility of paying the workers for time lost or, alter natively, that the yards should be closed on 26th and 27th December only, which would entail loss of only one day's pay?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

It has been decided to close the yards on 26th and 27th December only.
