HC Deb 30 November 1925 vol 188 cc1796-7
7. Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the troops and/or gendarmerie in Palestine have been or will be increased in view of possible disturbances arising out of events in Syria?

Mr. AMERY

No, Sir. There has been no increase, nor is any in contemplation.

Colonel WEDGWOOD

Is the right hon. Gentleman quite satisfied with the position of our forces in Palestine, in view of the recrudescence of Moslem feeling?

Mr. AMERY

Yes, Sir. According to the information supplied to me by Lord Plumer, I see no reason for anxiety.
