HC Deb 04 May 1925 vol 183 c555
11. Mr. THURTLE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether the Government officials in India are allowed to act as chairmen and directors of private companies in India?

Earl WINTERTON

The Indian Government Servants Conduct Rules—of the relevant portion of which I am sending the hon. Member a copy—prohibit officers of Government on the active list, with certain relatively unimportant exceptions, from taking part in the promotion, registration or management of any hank or other company, save with the special sanction of the Secretary of State.
