HC Deb 23 March 1925 vol 182 cc34-5
70. Mr. LANSBURY

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is now able to state when the Interim Report promised by the Food Prices Commission is likely to be issued?

Sir B. CHADWICK

I would refer to the answer given by the President of the Board of Trade to the hon. and gallant Member for South Hackney (Captain Garro-Jones) on 12th March, to which I am not able to add anything. I am sending a copy to the hon. Member.

Mr. LANSBURY

Surely the hon. Gentleman can tell me the approximate date?

Sir B. CHADWICK

I think the hon. Member will find the reply to that in the answer, of which I am sending him a copy.

Mr. H. WILLIAMS

May I ask whether the Commission is investigating the present price of bread, in view of the sudden drop in the cost?

Mr. SPEAKER

That does not arise.
