Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

When the London District Committee of the National Unemployed Workers' Committee Movement asked the Department to receive a deputation, I replied regretting that, owing to pressure of work, I was unable to receive them personally. and offered to arrange for them to he received by a senior officer of the Ministry. This offer was accepted, and the deputation attended and were received on the date arranged, namely. 23rd February. If there are still points on which the deputation seek a personal interview, I shall be prepared to consider the matter, but, as the hon. Member. I am sure, realises, there are many other calls upon my time.
