HC Deb 06 May 1920 vol 128 cc2223-4
37. Dr. MURRAY

asked the Prime Minister whether Japan is acting separately in Siberia or whether her policy has the approval of the Allies; and whether it has the sanction of the British Government?

Mr. BONAR LAW

In the opinion of His Majesty's Government, the action taken by the Japanese Government in Siberia is not of a nature to require the approval of the Allies, and consequently the second part of the question does not arise.

Lieut.-Colonel MALONE

Has the right hon. Gentleman seen the statement made by the Japanese representative at Vladivostock to the effect that he was acting in full accord with the Allies?

Mr. BONAR LAW

No, I have not seen it.

Colonel WEDGWOOD

Are we to assume it is not true in any case?

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Is there any truth in it?
