HC Deb 30 October 1919 vol 120 cc889-90
Sir DONALD MACLEAN

May I ask the Leader of the House whether lie can tell us what business he proposes to take next week, and if it is intended to sit on Friday?

Mr. BONAR LAW

We propose that the House should sit to-morrow and take the Rats and Mice Bill, the Constabulary and Police (Ireland) Bill, the County Court Judges (Retirement Pensions and Deputies) Bill; the War Emergency Laws (Continuance) Bill, Financial Resolution; the Land Settlement (Scotland) Bill, Financial Resolutions;

Monday, the Aliens Bill, Report;

Tuesday, the Agriculture and Fisheries (Councils, etc.) Bill, Second Reading; and other Orders.

I hope that after dinner the Adjournment will be moved in order that the subject mentioned yesterday, the appointment of the new Coal Controller, may be discussed.

On Wednesday, Supplementary Army Estimates will be taken.

With regard to Thursday, I would rather not say until Monday what the business will be, as it has not been quite decided.

On Friday, we propose to allow the National Assembly of the Church of England (Powers) Bill to be considered.

Mr. TERRELL

On what day do the Government propose to take Anti-dumping Bill?

Mr. BONAR LAW

On Wednesday we hope to introduce the Bill, but there can be no question of a Second Reading.

Sir P. MAGNUS

Will the Report stage of the Aliens Restriction Bill be completed on Monday?

Mr. BONAR LAW

It is hoped that the Report stage will be completed on Monday.

Lord R. CECIL

Will the discussion on Russia be taken on the Supplementary Army Estimates?

Sir D. MACLEAN

Will Mr. Justice Younger's Report be available, say, on Saturday, so that it may be used in Monday's Debate on the Aliens Restriction Bill?

Mr. BON AR LAW

My right hon. Friend the home Secretary promised yesterday to have it circulated as soon as lie could get some verbal observations from Mr. Justice Younger. I will see at once that steps are taken to have it made available.
