HC Deb 30 June 1919 vol 117 c606
76. Major Earl WINTERTON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minis try of Munitions on what public business the following Government cars, namely, LE 3,594, LT 7,381, and K 44,583, were being employed on the afternoon of 26th June, and if he is aware that at 2.40 p.m. on the date in question all these cars were waiting outside the Ritz Hotel, Piccadilly, in charge of a soldier driver?

Mr. KELLAWAY

The cars in question are not owned or supplied by the Ministry of Munitions, and I have no official information in regard to them.

Earl WINTERTON

Did the hon. Gentleman not say recently that his Department was responsible for these cars, which are loaned out to other Government Departments?

Mr. KELLAWAY

The Ministry of Munitions is responsible for the loan of the cars to certain Departments, but we have not been able to trace these cars to which reference is made in this question.
