HC Deb 18 August 1919 vol 119 c1898
40. Earl WINTERTON

asked the Under-secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether a censorship on private letters to and from British unofficial residents in Egypt still existed?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

The censorship of civil mails in Egypt, other than civil mails to and from occupied enemy territory, was abolished on the 24th July. The answer to the question is, therefore, in the negative.
