HC Deb 18 June 1913 vol 54 cc358-9
1. Mr. FREDERICK HALL (Dulwich)

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if Mr. Noyes, whose bankruptcy has been suspended on the ground that he had speculated in American Marconi shares, was formerly in the service of the Admiralty; if he resigned the Service voluntarily, or if any suggestion was made to him that he should do so; and whether any other officials have left the Admiralty for a similar reason?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Churchill)

An assistant paymaster of this name in the Royal Navy resigned, at his own request, in August last, on account of private affairs. He applied to re-enter the Navy last April, on the ground that his private affairs had been settled, and was reinstated. The Admiralty have no knowledge as to the details of the private affairs in question.
