HC Deb 29 July 1913 vol 56 cc285-6
43. Mr. POINTER

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he will give permission for the wishes of the Coastguard to be ascertained on the question of weekly payments of wages instead of monthly as at present?

Mr. LAMBERT (Civil Lord of the Admiralty)

I am not quite clear what method of ascertaining the wishes of the Coastguard on this matter my hon. Friend has in mind, but, if they desire to be paid weekly, it is open to them to make representations to that effect through their commanding officers—though I must not be understood as giving any undertaking as to the result of such representations.
