HC Deb 23 January 1913 vol 47 c621
72. Lord NINIAN CRICHTON-STUART

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty the number of submarines stationed in the North Sea and in the Channel; and how many are in active ser vice and in reserve, respectively, on each coast?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Churchill)

I am not prepared to add to the information given on pages 269 (d) and 270 (b) of the current Navy List, beyond stating that all the submarine flotillas are in active service and are maintained in the highest state of commission.
