HC Deb 15 January 1913 vol 46 c2059
33. Mr. WEDGWOOD

asked the Secretary of State for War whether the War Office were consulted as to the scheme proposed by the Lord Chancellor to extend the school age; and whether advantage will be taken of any such extension to instruct the youth of this country in military training of an elementary order with a view to improve their discipline and physical development?

The SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Colonel Seely)

The scheme referred to in my hon. Friend's question has not yet reached a stage at which it might come within the cognisance of the War Office.
