HC Deb 21 May 1912 vol 38 cc1752-3
Lord BALCARRES

May I ask the Home Secretary whether he can make a statement as to the Business of the House when we resume after the holidays?

Mr. McKENNA

When we resume on

Tuesday, 4th June, we shall take Committee of Supply (Office of Works Vote);

Wednesday, Local Government Board Vote;

Thursday, Board of Education Vote; and on

Friday, the remaining stages of the Government of India Bill, and other small Bills on the Paper.

Lord BALCARRES

Is the right hon. Gentleman able to give us any idea what business will be taken on the Monday following?

Mr. McKENNA

I am afraid I shall not be able to make any further statement beyond what I have now made.

Lord BALCARRES

May I ask whether, on the reassembling of the House, we shall have a statement about the business to be taken on the following Monday?

Mr. McKENNA

I think we shall be able to make a statement on the Tuesday we resume, but I cannot commit myself.

Mr. COURTHOPE

May I ask the right hon. Gentleman whether he can give any indication as to the probable date when the Second Reading of the Mental Deficiency Bill will be taken?

Mr. McKENNA

I am afraid I cannot now give the date, but I hope we shall have the Second Reading before the autumn holidays.
