HC Deb 15 February 1911 vol 21 cc1033-4
Mr. WEDGWOOD

asked whether the city of Vancouver now raises all its local taxation by a rate on land values, and excludes all improvements from taxation; when this change was introduced; and whether other Canadian towns are making a similar change.

Mr. HARCOURT

I understand that since the Parliamentary Paper Cd. 4,750 was laid there has been no material change in the principles of Municipal Taxation in British Columbia, though there have been changes in procedure. I have just received, by last mail, a report on the subject with voluminous enclosures, which I shall be happy to place in the Library.
