HC Deb 21 May 1910 vol 116 cc353-4
4. Colonel WEDGWOOD

asked the Secretary of State for India if he will say what steps, if any, have been or are being taken to give the capital of the Empire the opportunity of showing its feeling for the part that Indian troops played in the War; and whether there are still in France a sufficient number of Indians to enable the authorities to arrange for a proces- sion similar to the one of Colonial troops, who came to the western theatre of war later than the Indians?

Mr. FISHER

The Secretary of State has already taken steps to ensure that the Indian Army shall be represented as adequately as in the circumstances may be possible in the peace celebrations. There are not sufficient Indian troops in France for the suggestion in the second part of the question.
