HC Deb 20 June 1910 vol 18 c25
Mr. HAMBRO

asked the Postmaster-General whether his attention had been called to the fact that a Mr. Wilson, postmaster of Winton, Bournemouth, had been taking part in the by-election in East Dorset and speaking for the Liberal candidate; and whether such action was sanctioned at the General Post Office?

The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Herbert Samuel)

The facts, to which my attention had not previously been called, are as stated. The sub-postmaster of Winton has committed a breach of the published rules of the Post Office. I have taken steps to ensure the proper observance of the rules now and in future.
