Mr. McKINNON WOODNo decision has at present been reached with regard to the proposals for the extension of the Suez Canal Company's concession, which have only just been submitted to the Egyptian National Assembly for their consideration. His Majesty's Government are not, therefore, yet in a position to lay papers on the subject.
§ Mr. BOWLESMay I ask whether when the matter comes before the Government they will bear in mind the gravity of the enormous dues paid by British vessels passing through the Suez Canal?
