To ask the Secretary for Scotland whether he can now give any further information as to the steps the Government propose to take to deal with the position created by the decision of the House of Lords in the case of Gillespie v. Riddell.

(Answered by Mr. Sinclair.) The Government are fully alive to the necessity for dealing with this question, but I am at present unable to give my hon. friend anything more than this general assurance.
