HC Deb 18 March 1907 vol 171 c459
MR. ASHLEY

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can give any information with reference to the unrest among the native population of British East Africa; and if he can state what steps, if any, are being taken to protect settlers living at a distance from the railway.

MR. CHURCHILL

A telegram has been received from the Acting Commissioner of the British East Africa Protectorate stating that there is not the slightest foundation for the report of a native rising.
