HC Deb 02 July 1907 vol 177 c525
MR. EVELYN CECIL (Aston Manor)

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the discussions at the Colonial Conference and of the Report of the Steam ship Subsidies Committee in 1902, His Majesty's Government can see their way to improve the direct British steamship communication to East Africa.

THE UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (Mr. Churchill,) Manchester, N.W.

As I informed the hon. Member for the Montgomery District on 29th May, this matter has been and will be carefully considered by His Majesty's Government, but I am not able to make any statement on the subject at present.
