HC Deb 28 August 1907 vol 182 c449
MR. FELL (Great Yarmouth)

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies if, on his approaching visit to Uganda, he proposes to visit the Lado enclave and look into the question on the spot of the existing lease of that country to the King of the Belgians for the Congo Free State, and how the terms of that lease are being carried out.

MR. CHURCHILL

Questions relating to the Lado enclave do not fall within the province of the Colonial Office. They are matters for the Foreign Office and the Egyptian and Soudanese Governments, and I am not sure that my intervention would be welcomed.
