HC Deb 15 March 1906 vol 153 cc1425-6
MR. DOLAN (Leitrim, N.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he has observed that, in the estimates of expenditure under the Irish Development Grant Fund, £12,000 is allocated towards extensions of the Cavan and Leitrim Railway; whether he is aware that the Bill submitted by the Cavan and Leitrim Railway Company has been unanimously rejected by the Leitrim County Council, and that the promoters have accordingly abandoned the Bill; and will he see that no further useless expenditure from the Development Grant Fund is incurred in connection with this rejected scheme.

MR. BRYCE.

This matter is receiving the consideration of His Majesty's Government. I am not at present prepared to make any statement on the subject, beyond the expression of my regret that so many difficulties seem to have arisen.
