THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. BRODRICK,) Surrey, Guildford

said, a slight change had been introduced in this clause, necessitated by the Madras and Bombay Armies Act of 1893.

On the Schedule,

MR. J. G. WEIR (Ross and Cromarty)

asked that the soldiers might be allowed to have an allowance of milk.

MR. BRODRICK

said the private soldiers might supplement what was given them by the Government by means of their special allowance.
