HC Deb 11 May 1891 vol 353 c479
MR. HOBHOUSE (Somerset, E.)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Agriculture whether his attention has been called to the great inconvenience to the Public Service caused by there being no place in London where the officials of Public Departments and others can consult the maps published by the Ordnance Survey; and whether the Government will provide such a place at the office of the Board of Agriculture, or elsewhere?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE (Mr. CHAPLIN,) Lincolnshire, Sleaford

I am quite aware that the present arrangements, both with regard to the inspection and also the sale of the maps published by the Ordnance Survey, are not satisfactory, and they are now under the consideration of the Department. No alteration can be made in the arrangements for the sale of maps before December, 1892, but I hope very shortly to provide in London facilities for the inspection of maps, which will meet the views of the hon. Member.
