SIR F. MILKER (Nottingham, Bassetlaw)I wish to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether, considering there is no chance of a discussion being taken on the Eight Hours Bill on Wednesday, it will be possible to grant a day either before or after Easter in order to discuss the question?
§ *MR. W. H. SMITHI cannot agree with my hon. Friend that there is no chance of discussing this Bill on Wednesday. There is only one other Order of the Day before it; and if it is the desire of hon. Members that a discussion should take place, the preceding business might be disposed of by 2.30 or 3 o'clock, so as to enable the Eight Hours Bill to be taken up.
