HC Deb 18 June 1891 vol 354 c791
MR. SEXTON (Belfast, W.)

I beg to ask the Attorney General for Ireland whether, in view of the resolutions adverse to the Registration of Assurances (Ireland) Bill, unanimously adopted by a meeting representing all the Irish banks and the chief commercial bodies and mercantile houses in Ireland (held in the Bank of Ireland, Dublin, on the 28th ult.), he intends to proceed further with the Bill in the present Session?

*THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. MADDEN,) Dublin University

I have already practically answered this question by withdrawing the Bill, and I hope that the interval between now and next Session will enable me to arrive at a settlement of the one point on which I am at issue with the mercantile community.
