DAVID THOMAS (Merthyr Tydvil)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when the District Reports, covering 1890, of the Mines Inspectors will be issued; and whether it would be possible in future years to expedite the presentation of these Reports so that they may be published within a couple of months or so of the close of the period to which they relate?
§ MR. STUART WORTLEYSix of the District Mines Inspectors' Reports were delivered yesterday. I am informed by the Stationery Office that the remaining eight will be delivered in the course of the present week. There are many difficulties in the way of securing the presentation of these Reports within so early a period as a couple of months of the time to which they relate, but I think it would be possible to arrange that they should be presented not later than the end of May in each year, and I will endeavour to expedite their preparation and printing at any rate to this extent.
