HC Deb 28 July 1891 vol 356 c550
MR. FLYNN

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether, owing to the number of complaints made in reference to the reading books in the National schools of Ireland, the Commissioners of National Education have undertaken a revision of these books; and is a new edition of the fourth book printed; and, if so, what is the cause of the delay in issuing the new book?

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

The Commissioners of National Education have reported that the lesson books in the National schools are undergoing a thorough revision. The new edition of the fourth book is not yet printed off, but most of the proof sheets have been received from the printer, and there will be no unnecessary delay in issuing the work.
