SMITH (Flintshire)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for India whether he is aware that an examination of the last Statement exhibiting the moral and material progress and condition of India shows the total number of places licensed for the sale of opium in the Indian Empire to be 11,244; and whether that number is correct, or the statement he made on 25th June, when he gave the total number of licences as 8,834?
