HC Deb 27 February 1891 vol 350 c1849
MR. BURT (Morpeth)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he will state the decision of the arbitrator to whom the matter was referred, re the dispute between the War Office and the India Office as to alleged overcharges, extending through a series of years on stores supplied to the Government of India; and whether he will lay upon the Table a memorandum giving particulars of the arbitration?

MR. W. H. SMITH

I can assure the hon. Member that the matter has not been lost sight of, but it involves greater difficulties than at first sight appeared. The arbitrator (Lord Cranbrook) has not yet been able to come to a decision.
