HC Deb 23 February 1891 vol 350 cc1373-4
MR. FLYNN (Cork, N.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Lord Lieutenant has refused to sanction the appointment of Mr. Good, V.S., to the post of Veterinary Inspector of the Bandon Union, to which he was elected on the 21st January last; is he aware that Mr. Good is a veterinary practitioner under "The Veterinary Surgeons Act, 1881," and that his name appears on the Register of Veterinary Surgeons; was Mr. Good approved of by the Privy Council as an existing practitioner, and does such approval entitle him to hold the position of Veterinary Inspector to the Board; and on what grounds has the Lord Lieutenant overruled the election of this gentleman by the Board of Guardians?

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

I must ask the hon. Gentleman to defer the question.

MR. FLYNN

Until to-morrow?

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

I think I shall be able to answer it to-morrow.
