HC Deb 03 February 1891 vol 349 cc1629-30
Mr. ARTHUR O'CONNOR (Donegal, E.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War if it is his intention encamp the 5th Inniskilling Fusiliers (Donegal Militia) during their period of training, instead of billeting them as heretofore; and, if so, where; and whether he will, before directing any change, consult with the Chief Secretary as to the probable financial effect upon the poorer householders of Lifford of any sudden alteration of system?

MR. BRODRICK

The Donegal Militia will be trained at Lifford, as heretofore; but since, for military considerations, billeting is avoided whenever possible, and the objections to it are so well known, it has been decided that this year the men shall be encamped.
