HC Deb 24 April 1891 vol 352 c1320
SIR T. ESMONDE (Dublin County, S)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if there is any anticipation of trouble at Samoa in connection with Mataafa's succession to King Malietoa; and, if so, whether steps are being taken by Her Majesty's Government to meet it?

THE UNDER SECRETARY or STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS(Sir J. FERGUSSON, Manchester, N.E.)

The most recent reports received from Samoa are satisfactory, and do not lead us to anticipate any trouble.
