HC Deb 17 April 1891 vol 352 cc791-2
MR. PICKARD (York, W.R., Normanton)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he is now able to arrange a day to continue the Debate on the Second Reading of the Mines (Eight Hours) Bill?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. W. H. SMITH, Strand, Westminster)

I am unable to arrange a day for the continuance of the Debate on the Second Reading of this Bill.

MR. PICKARD

Will the right hon. Gentleman be able in the course of the Session to grant a day?

MR. W. H. SMITH

It will depend entirely upon the progress of Public Business. 1 am certainly not encouraged by the present progress that is being made at the present time.
