HC Deb 16 April 1891 vol 352 cc670-1
MR. MAC NEILL

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for India whe- ther the inquiry into the alleged riots among the indigo cultivators in Bengal, promised in April 1890, has been made; and, if so, whether he will lay the result of such inquiry, with all Papers, if any, upon the Table; and whether a Report from the Government of India, as to the circumstances in, and conditions under which indigo is cultivated, has been received; and, if so, whether he will lay it upon the Table?

SIR J. GORST

Yes, Sir; the Papers in this case were presented last month. I understand that they are now being printed, and will be shortly circulated.
