HC Deb 31 March 1890 vol 343 c271
MR. SEXTON (Belfast, W.)

I beg to ask the Postmaster General how long the Controllership in the Belfast sorting office has been vacant; and when it is to be tilled up?

*THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES,) University of Cambridge

There is no such appointment as that of Controller in the Belfast Post Office. The appointment in question is that of clerk, and this appointment has been filled by the promotion of Mr. Grant, who has for some time been performing the duties of Controlling officer.
