HC Deb 28 February 1890 vol 341 c1516
MR. JESSE COLLINGS (Birmingham, Bordesley)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury when the Government will be prepared to re-appoint the Small Holdings Committee?

MR. COBB

Before the right hon. Gentleman replies to the question may I ask him whether, if the Committee are able to make an early Report, there is any chance of legislation on the subject this Session?

MR. W. H. SMITH

I think the hon. Member for Rugby (Mr. Cobb) will be able to form his own judgment upon that matter, having regard to the various measures which are to be brought before the House. In reply to the question of the hon. Member for Bordesley (Mr. Collings), I have to say when I have ascertained that it is the general wish of Members of this House I will be prepared to take the necessary steps.
