HC Deb 21 February 1890 vol 341 cc888-9
SIR GEORGE BADEN-POWELL (Liverpool, Kirkdale)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies whether it will be practicable to procure and present to this House Papers and Correspondence affording an account of the Conference held in Melbourne for the purpose of inaugurating closer union among the Australian Colonies?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (Baron H. de WORMS, Liverpool, East Toxteth)

During the preliminary negotiations which have taken place in Melbourne no points have arisen requiring a reference to Her Majesty's Government, and there is as yet no correspondence to present; but it is expected that a Report of the proceedings will arrive in March, when it will be laid on the Table of the House.
