HC Deb 20 February 1890 vol 341 cc755-6
MR. WARMINGTON (Monmouth, W.)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Government intend to re-introduce a Bill for the appointment of an Official or Public Trustee; and whether the Government will move for the appointment of a Select Committee to which can be referred the Bill of the Government when introduced, and also the Bills introduced by private Members for the same or similar purposes?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. W. H. SMITH, Strand, Westminster)

The Government intend to re-introduce the Bill for the appointment of a Public Trustee. The Bill will be introduced by the Lord Chancellor in another place; and when it comes down to this House the Government will decide how to proceed with it, endeavouring to ascertain the general sense of the House on the question.
