COBBI beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether an official inquiry has been held, or evidence collected, as to the causes of the recent epidemic of influenza; and whether the Local Government Board possess reliable materials for drawing up an official statement, and instructions for treatment, so as to prevent much suffering, and to allay public alarm in the event of a similar epidemic breaking out?
§ MR. RITCHIEAn inquiry is now being conducted, and evidence collected, by officers of the Board's Medical Department as to the causes of the recent epidemic of influenza. The Board are not at present in a position to draw up such an official statement as is suggested, and they have no intention to give instructions for medical treatment.
