MR. PHILIPPS (Lanark, Mid)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether the Board of Trade has obtained from the Railway Companies any Returns of the hours worked by 195 railway servants under the powers given to the Board by the Regulation of Railways Act of last Session?
§ SIR M. HICKS-BEACHAs so short a time has elapsed since a Return relating to the hours worked by railway servants was presented to Parliament, namely, in March, 1889, I have not considered it necessary yet to ask for further Returns, but I propose to do so shortly.
