HC Deb 01 December 1890 vol 349 c229
MR. BOULNOIS (Marylebone, E.)

I beg to ask the Postmaster General whether a list of abbreviated addresses registered at the Post Office can be published and sold to the public at a cheap rate?

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES, Cambridge University)

In reply to my hon. Friend, I have to say that the firms and private persons in London who have registered abbreviated addresses for telegrams have been consulted, and that so many of them have objected altogether to the publication of their addresses that I should not be justified in adopting the suggestion which has more than once been made to me that an official list should be issued.
